Sacred Journeys
'Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.’
Thich Nhat Hanh
Deepening your connection to the natural world
“The world is not a problem to be solved; it is a living being to which we belong.. Until we go to the root of our image of separateness, there can be no healing. And the deepest part of our separateness from creation lies in our forgetfulness of its sacred nature, which is also our own sacred nature.”
― Thích Nhất Hạnh, Spiritual Ecology: The Cry of the Earth
"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them"
Albert Einstein
The tremendous issues that confront society and the environment today are plainly clear for all of us to see.
With its ravenous appetite for both our internal and external environments, consumerism is dominating our modern lives, However, it is only a byproduct of a soulless, materialistic worldview that has eroded our sense of purpose and deeper belonging.
Without incorporating a spiritual or sacred element, we are facing a serious risk of repeating the same actions that created our crises in the first place.
Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee has coined the term, Spiritual ecology, and describes it as a recognition of the need to return to the source of our own sacred nature, and of the spiritual practices that affect both the individual and the whole, practices that can through our own individual awareness and action, also help restore the connection between the Earth and its own source.’
Perhaps it is from the foundation of this living relationship of interconnectedness that can we bring the world back into balance.
